The time is now…
You’ve been waiting…
But before I show you the images, I’d love to speak a little bit about my art. My goal for this portrait experience was to create a cyberpunk themed set of images without the use of photoshopped backgrounds. It was a challenge for me as it required very precise light placements to make it work.
The biggest trick is balancing the levels of light so that you overpower the projector but now blow out details within the images. I have probably 40 hours into these projector projects.
Without further ado, enjoy!
First of the sets here we have a beauty dish being used for key light with a blue fill to bring the projector lighting into the image more. Note how the angle of her head changes the way the light reacts to my strobe.
Probably one of my favorites from the set, I just love how cyberpunk these really feel. She’s got the edge, the attitude, and the x pattern on the background reminds me of neon signs like she might be a cyberpunk on a rooftop of a busy future dystopian city.
Don’t even get me started on these lol. It’s like a magical lo-fi oasis. The beautiful neon tones really bring the whole story together. I love the softness in these compared to the last set. The final image I love the most, I actually added stars to her skin and color graded her skin to go from blue to pink just like the background,
Love the circle pattern on these. The initial image was super dark, and very hard to recover. But I am very happy with the amount of detail we were able to bring back into the photos.
I know these are a little bit out there, what with her skin being green. But it goes back to what I always preach, color is subjective. With the teals and purples, this graded green comes across a femme and pretty. Again not something I would normally do, but since we are already being creative why not?
