Fur Babies - The Amazing Renwick Family - Indianapolis Dog & Family Photography
The story of four fur-children
You can’t tell now, but Tabatha didn't always have such a pampered life. In fact, some jerk threw her from a car at just four months old and abandoned her as a defenseless puppy. Now she’s affectionately known by the Renwick household as their "baby weasel". Like many dogs Tabatha had an injury, which made it hard for her to find her furever home. I spent a lot of time volunteering my time taking photos at shelters, and as a consequence I've met and interacted with 100s of dogs who were abandoned, neglected, or forgotten.
It breaks my ever loving heart.
Fortunately we have amazing people like the Renwicks in the world, who understand that sometimes the greatest love comes from the smallest flame.
She's come a long way since then though, and all four of the beautiful dogs under the loving care of the Renwick family are clearly very loved. When Jami reached out and asked if we could take photos of the dogs in the studio I about lost my mind I was so excited.
When they arrived it was wild, a whirlwind of excited sniffing noses and wagging bushy tails greeted us as soon as they made eye contact. It was like getting tackled by a wall of fluffy love!
It's always so amazing to see a dog (in this case 4) that has really gotten another chance at life.
Jami also shared with me that shoot was extra special because one of their doggos was not only an amazing 13 years old, but that this amazing animal beat cancer in 2018! She said that every day with her is one she never thought she would have. I honestly tear up thinking about it even now. So before I do, let's see their studio session!
