A Scenic Barn Wedding

“One thing was clear, these two were madly in love!”

It was a hot and wet summers day at the Willow Creek Barn in Frankfort, Indiana. The day starts in a flurry of excitement as decorations of white are unloaded in the parking lot. The venue is quiet with anticipation.
The camera is fired up and ready to capture every beautiful moment that this day had in store.
Today, I would be shooting with me dear friend Sue Eckl. She’s an incredible photographer and we work well together! This blog is the shots that I personally took on the big day.

My first stop was with the man-of-the-hour, Andrew, and his grooms party.

The moments shared were meaningful but had no lack of goofing around. What a great group, and I have to say incredibly photogenic!
We can’t get enough of how their photos came out.

You could feel the tension as they stood there holding hands.
— The First Look

I could practically feel the anticipation in the air while they stood there, waiting to turn a corner and see each other for the first time that day. It was such a beautiful moment, these are some of my favorite photos from the day.

We took a few moments throughout the day for some remarkable formal shots around this stunning property. I can’t tell you how many times I said, “Wow, these are going to be incredible!” while I was shooting. This couple took a beautiful venue and made it feel like a fairytale wedding.
But of course the ceremony was the moment everyone was anticipating. And for good reason, it was raining cats and dogs all day!
But love finds a way, and the heavens took a break for an hour so we could get these love birds married. It may have been raining, but the lighting couldn’t have been better. We were all drenched by the end of the day. My shoes were squeaking all day!

Mother nature wouldn’t even dare get in the way of this union.
— The Ceremony

The stage was set for the main event. Guests were catching up with friends and family filling the room with a soothing lull. The venue was glowing with love and happiness. And just like that, the wedding party had begun to make their entrance, a hush descended over the pews like the dew on a new morning.
And speaking of dew, it had been raining cats and dogs all day! It was very clear this wedding was meant to be though when the heavens stopped dumping water on our heads just long enough for these two to tie the knot.

This was an emotional ceremony, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the crowd.

I also just want to highlight how adorable their vows were…

I must of taken 1000s of amazing photos of this day, and unfortunately it’s just too much for one blog. But make sure to subscribe to our newsletter for more wedding stories! I don’t know about you, but I just love writing these. I hope you are enjoying a behind the lens look at our projects and clients.

You would swear these two were meant for each other by destiny, they look so happy!

Congratulations Andrew & Kylie!!!
